Teenager held with hundi money

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested an alleged hundi trader with Tk 0.4 million (Tk 4 lakh) in Putkhali border area under Benapole Port Police Station on Sunday.

The arrestee was identified as Md Raihan Ali, 15, son of Md Hamidul Islam, a resident of Putkhali Uttarpara village of the area, reports UNB.

Lieutenant Colonel Tariqul Hakim, commanding officer of BGB-21 battalion, said on secrete information a team of BGB Putkhali camp raided Putkhali Mazid Bari area and arrested Raihan Ali and seized a bicycle from his possession around 3:30pm.

After searching his body, BGB men recovered Tk 0.4 million.

Later, Raihan was handed over to Benapole Port Police Station.

A case was filed with the police station in this connection.

The seized hundi money was deposited to Benapole customs, the BGB official added.
