A Dhaka court on Tuesday placed 10 expelled leaders and activists of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) unit Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) on a five-day remand each in a case over Abrar Fahad killing.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sadbir Yasir Ahsan Chowdhury passed the order when DB Inspector Wahiduzzaman, also the investigation officer of the case, produced them before the court seeking a 10-day remand for them.

Those remanded are BCL Buet unit general secretary Mehedi Hasan Russel, its vice-president Muhtasim Fuad, organising secretary Mehedi Hasan Robin, information and research secretary Anik Sarkar, sports secretary Meftahul Islam, literature secretary Moniruzzaman Monir, deputy social welfare secretary Efti Mosharraf Sokal, deputy office secretary Mostoba Rafid and three members Muntasir Al Jami and Ehtemamul Rabbi.

On Monday, Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) expelled them for their involvement in the murder of Abrar Fahad.

The action was taken following recommendations made by a probe committee formed to look into the murder of Abrar, said a press release signed by acting BCL President Al Nahean Khan Joy and acting General Secretary Lekhok Bhattacharjee, reports UNB.
