Two pedestrians die in Sunamganj road accident

Two pedestrians were killed as a minibus plunged into a roadside ditch after hitting the them on Sylhet-Sunamganj highway in Sunamganj.

 

The incident also left seven passengers of the minibus injured on Friday morning, reports UNB.

 

The deceased were identified as Amina Begum, 60, a resident of Bahadurpur village and Badrul, son of Abdur Rahman of Tajpur village in Laxmansri union of the upazila.

 

Md Shahidullah, officer-in-charge of Sadar Model Police station, said the Sunamganj-bound minibus skidded off the road and fell into the ditch after hitting the two pedestrians, leaving the duo and seven bus passengers injured.

 

Later, they were rushed to Sunamganj Sadar Hospital where doctors declared Amina dead. Injured Badrul succumbed to his injuries after two hours.
