Two found dead in Rajshahi

Police recovered bodies of two people in Puthia upazila on Monday in separate incidents.

The deceased were identified as Babita Rani Paul, wife of Ratan Paul in Baneshwar Namajgram Palpara area, and Abul Hossain, 52, son of Abul Quashem of Biraldah Maipara village in the upazila.

Sayedur Rahman Bhuiyan, officer-in-charge of Puthia Police Station, said Babita committed suicide by hanging herself with the beam of her room around 12:30pm in the absence of her husband and mother-in-law.

Later, family members recovered her hanging body breaking open the door of the room.

Besides, police recovered the hanging body of Abul Hossain, who was accused in a case filed over the killing of his wife, from a mango orchard of Biraldah Maipra village in the morning.

Family members said after getting up from the sleep in the morning, they did not find Abul in his room.

Later, they found him hanging from a mango tree, said the OC.

According to UNB, police sent the bodies to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
