Three-tier security in Ctg for Pahela Baishakh

The Chattagram Metropolitan Police (CMP) has devised three level security measures to avoid any untoward incident in the upcoming Pahela Baishakh, the first day of the Bengali new year.  

Amena Begum, additional police commissioner of CMP, on Thursday revealed the information in a press conference at CMP conference room.

All the programmes of DC Hill and Shirishtala at CRB of Chattagram must end before 5:00pm, she said adding that the Vuvuzela has been banned on the occasion, reports UNB.

CCTV cameras have been installed in the areas where the programmes will be held and Special Weapon and Tactics (SWAT) as well as bomb disposal units will be deployed, said Amena Begum.

Visitors have to use specific entry and exit points while separate watchtowers will be set up at each venue.

Cars and vehicles will be allowed up to certain points, and after that visitors will have to walk to the venue.

3,000 police in the form of mobile teams, detective teams, sweeping teams, archway, fire service units, and medical teams will be pressed into service on the occasion.

CMP Deputy Commissioner (DB) Hasan Mohammad Shawkat Ali, Additional Deputy Commissioner (South) SM Mostain Hossain, Additional Police Commissioner (South) Shah Mohammed Abdur Rouf were present during the conference among others.
