Teenager  ‘commits suicide’ in Jashore

A college student reportedly committed suicide in a huff as his parents scolded him over excessive use of mobile phones in Lon Office Para area of Jashore early Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Miraz-uz-Zaman, 16, student of Jashore Government City College and son of homeopathy doctor Kayed Uz Zaman.

Sub-inspector of Kotwali Police Station Khaledur Rahman said Miraz hanged himself with the ceiling fan of his room as his parents rebuked him over excessive use of mobile phone in late nights.

The body was sent to Sadar Hospital for autopsy, but later with Deputy Commissioner's permission the body was handed over to the family without operating the autopsy, he added, reports UNB.
