Soaring vegetable price worries buyers in Bogra

People of fixed-income group of the district are worried due to high price of all kinds of vegetable.

The Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) office source said farmers have cultivated varieties of vegetable on 11,650 hectares of land to produce 2,70,000 tonnes of output this season.

In a recent visit this correspondent found each kg of green chilli is being sold at Tk 80 to Tk 100, carrot at Tk 40 to Tk 50, pointed gourd at Tk 30 to Tk 35, radish at Tk 30 to Tk 40, and snake bean at Tk 40 to Tk 50, coriander leave at Tk 40 to Tk 60, brinjal at Tk 60 to Tk 70, bitter gourd at Tk 60 to Tk 80 and bean at Tk 50 to Tk 70 in the local kitchen market.
