Rain with thundershowers likely, says Met office

Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at many places with hails at isolated places over the country in 24 hours ending at 9 am tomorrow.

"Rain or thundershowers or lightning flashes accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chottogram and Sylhet divisions with hails at isolated places," said a met office release in Dhaka Sunday morning.

Mild heat wave may sweep the regions of Rajshahi and Khulna divisions, the release added.

The maximum 36.8 degrees Celsius temperature was recorded on Saturday at Jashore in Khulna and Rajshahi divisions respectively and Sunday's minimum 20.5 degrees Celsius at Gopalganj in Dhaka division.

The Dhaka division experienced the highest 42 millimeters (mm) rainfall in 24 hours ending at 6 am Sunday, reports BSS.

Sunday's sunset over the capital city will be at 6:20 pm and Monday's sunrise at 5:37 am.
