Police recover youth’s body from Cumilla river

Police recovered the body of a young man, who went missing on Saturday evening, from the Gomti River in Burichang upazila of Cumilla on Sunday morning.

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Ali, 23, son of Joynal Abedin of Chanpur village in Debidwar upazila.

Sub-inspector Shahin Alam of Devpur Police Outpost in Burichang said Ali went missing on Saturday evening.

Locals spotted his floating body inside an embankment along the river in the morning and informed police, UNB reported cititng the official.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Comilla Medical College Hospital for autopsy, the SI added.
