One killed, four injured in shipyard cylinder blast

A worker was killed and four others sustained burn injuries in a gas cylinder blast at a shipyard factory in the port city on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Opil Rema, 25, son of Fazlu Miah of Kamalakandi village in Netrokona district.

The blast took place in Kabir Steel at Madambibir Hat when the workers were working around 9 am, leaving cutter-man-Opil dead on the spot and four others critically injured, quoted locals.

On information, a fire fighter team rushed in, recovered the body and rescued the injured, said Kumira fire service station officer Harun Pasha, reports UNB.

Sitakunda Police Station sub-inspector Shaifullah said the body would be handed over to the family members after autopsy.
