Five hurt in clash between AL, Jubo League men

Five people were injured in a clash between the activists of Awami League and Jubo League over a trifling matter at Kaliakoir village in Savar, on the outskirts of the capital, early Wednesday.

Locals said the clash was ensued among the supporters of Samad Mollah, general secretary of Birulia union unit Awami League, and Salim Mandal, president of Savar unit Jubo League, over supplying of materials to an under construction factory.

At one stage, both groups attacked each other around 12 am, leaving five people injured.

On information, police rushed there and brought the situation under control, said Mohsinul Quader, officer-in-charge of Savar Model Police Station, reports UNB.

Police arrested three people including Selim Mandal and Samad Mollah in this connection and recovered three short guns from their possession, he added.
