The younger son of former fisheries and livestock minister Narayan Chandra Chanda tried to kill himself by drinking toilet cleaner in Dumuria of Khulna district on Wednesday.
Abhiit Chandra Chanda, 25, was taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital around 11:00am, assistant registrar doctor Khaled Mahmud said, reports UNB.
He was later referred to Dhaka as his condition deteriorated.
It was not immediately clear why the man tried to take his own life.
