Police have recovered the body of a murder suspect who they say was ‘shot dead in a shootout between criminals’.
The shootout occurred in Sharanpur village in Monirampur Upazila on Sunday, said Jessore Superintendent of Police Anisur Rahman.
The deceased was identified as 30-year-old Raju Sardar. Sardar has been accused in 29 cases and faced charges of murder, said Rahman, reports bdnews24.
Police received a tip-off that a shootout between two criminal gangs was occurring in Sharanpur village, the police superintendent said. The perpetrators fled when a police team arrived on the scene, he said.
Sardar’s body was recovered from the scene, he added.
