Police arrested 42 people, including 19 activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir from Monday evening to Tuesday morning in the district.
Police launched a special drive in different areas of eight-thanas of the district and arrested them, said Satkhira Special Branch (SB) police inspector Mizanur Rahman.
Of them, eight were arrested from Sadar thana, five from Kalaroa, seven from Tala, two from Kaliganj, four from Shyamnagar, four from Ashashuni, three from Debhata and eight from Patkrlghata, according to UNB report.
Most of the arrestees were accused in sabotage and drug cases, added Mizanur.
