Comilla ‘gunfight’ leaves two robbers dead

Two suspected robbers have been killed in an alleged gunfight with police at Zafarganj union in Comilla’s Debidwar upazila early Saturday.

Mohammad Shah Abid Hossain, Superintendent of Comilla Police said acting on a tip-off, a team of police launched a drive in the area around 4 am.

Sensing the presence of the law enforcers, the bandits opened fire at them prompting them to fire back, triggering a gunfight.

Later, police recovered two dead bodies of the suspected robbers from the spot, reports a local news agency.

The law enforcers claimed that five other members of the gang were also wounded.
