Bus-microbus collision kills four in Cox’s Bazar

Four people have died and six others suffered injuries after a Cox’s Bazar-bound bus of Shyamoli Paribahan collided with two microbuses at Harbang on Chittagong-Cox's Bazar highway in Chakaria upazila on Saturday morning.

Officer-in-Charge of Chakaria Police Station, Bakhtiar Uddin Chowdhury said the accident occurring around 8 am left three microbus passengers dead on the spot while another died on the way to hospital.

The victims were identified as Harunur Rashid (16), Sahab Uddin (18), Ali Akbar (19) and Jaynal Abedin (25), according to a bdnews24 report.   

UNB said the injured were taken to the Chakaria Upazila Health Complex and Chittagong Medical College Hospital soon after the incident.

Police later seized the two vehicles.
