Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive seized import-banned Indian medicine worth Tk 14 million (14 lakh) from Benapole on Monday night.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of BGB-49 led by Lt Col Ariful Haque, raided the check post area and recovered the medicine.

The smugglers managed to flee the scene sensing the presence of BGB, said Ariful.

A case was filed with Benapole Port Police Station, reports UNB.
