Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) during a drive seized 10 gold bars weighing 1.16 kilogram from the first gate of Panama Port Link Limited at Sonamasjid land port in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj district in the wee hours of Thursday.
A team of BGB 59 battalion, led by Commanding officer Lieutenant Colonel Rashed Ali, conducted a drive in the area around 12:10 on secret information and seized the gold bars worth 5million, says a local news agency report.
The gold bars were later deposited to the treasury volt of the deputy commissioner of Chapainawabganj.
