A Rajshahi University student sustained injuries as a leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) allegedly beat him up on Friday evening.

Jihad Hossain, a 4th year student of Anthropology Department said Ruhul Amin Kisku alias Rack, vice-president of RU BCL, called him while he was sitting in front of Teacher Student Centre (TSC) around 6:30 pm.

When Jihad went to Ruhul Amin, who was also staying near TSC, he started beating Jihad with an iron rod, leaving him critically injured.

Several students of Habibur Rahman hall found Jihad lying in a pool of blood in an unconscious condition.

Later, he was rushed to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital, reports UNB.

A physician of the hospital said Jihad received injury on his head.

However, the BCL leader remains in denial over the allegation.
