Aus cultivation going on in full swing in Magura

MAGURA, May 27: Aus paddy cultivation going on in full swing in the district.

Magura DAE sources said some 3,387 hectares of land will be brought under the farming of Aus with the production target of 8,350 tonnes.

In this connection, a total of 1600 farmers were provided incentive.

Under the incentive, each of the Ufshi Aus grower got 5.0 kg of seed, 10 kg of MOP, 10 kg of DAP and 20 kg of urea fertilisers and cash Tk 500 for cultivate a bigha of land.

Besides, every Nerika Aus grower got 10 kg of seed, 20 kg of urea, 10 kg of MOP, and 10 kg of DAP and cash Tk 1, 000.

DAE official Gobinda Das said Aus growers are happy as favourable weather is prevailing in the district. Incentives have been provided among the cultivators. Cultivators are expecting a bumper Aus yield this season.
