281 Manikganj houses get power connection

A total of 281 houses of Jamsha union under Singair upazila of the district have been brought under rural electrification network by Manikganj Palli Bidyut Samity (MPDS) on Tuesday.

Popular Folk Singer Momtaj Begum, MP, formally inaugurated the electrification programme at Dakkhin Jamsha village of the upazila as the chief guest.

Mahbubur Rahman, Deputy General Manager (DGM), Singair Palli Bidyut Samity was present at the function as special guest while Md Mizanur Rahman Mithu, Chairman of Jamsha Union Parishad chaired the event.

Md Abdul Majed Khan, secretary, Singair upazila Awami League, Anwara Khatun, Vice Chairman, Singair upazila Parishad and local Awami League leaders were also present the function, reports BSS.

A total of 5.50 km areas of the union were brought under rural electrification network with a cost of about Tk 7.358 million.
