Police recovered the body of a college student from a field near his house at Tentulia under Kaliganj upazila in Lalmonirhat on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Abu Hasan, 20, a first year student of Lalmonirhat Govt College and son of Abul Kalam Azad of the village.
Police sources said Hasan was severely beaten by his father on Friday on charges of selling tobacco leaves without his father's concern.
Later on Saturday morning, locals spotted the body at the field and informed police.
Police recovered the body and sent it to Lalmanirhat Sadar Hospital for an autopsy, said Makbul Hossain, officer-in-charge of Kaliganj Police Station, reports UNB.
