Chittagong Port Authority to make movie on 'Operation Jackpot'

Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) is set to make a movie on the 'Operation Jackpot', that was carried out by naval commandos during the country's War of Liberation in 1971, reports BSS.

A discussion on the draft script of the movie was held at the Shipping Ministry's meeting room here today with Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan in the chair, said an official release.

Film director Giasuddin Selim will make the movie, said an official release here today.

Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor, CPA Chairman Rear Admiral M Khaled Iqbal, Additional Secretary (admin) of Shipping Ministry Md Rafiqul Islam, member of Muktijuddha research team AKM Raisul Haque Bahar, film director Giasuddin Selim and naval commando Sajedul Haque Chunnu were present at the discussion.

Shajahan urged the people concerned to highlight Bangabandhu's struggle, planning and historic speech on March 7, including history of Liberation War and heroic role of naval commandos during the country's Liberation War in the film.

He said the movie should be made in a way that could infuse confidence-building element into the Bengali nation as well as the international community.
