The authorities of Chattogram University have put the campus under a lockdown for 14 days from July 04 to July 18 in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus, UNB reports.

Registrar of the university Professor SM Monirul Hasan confirmed this.

The lockdown decision was taken during an emergency meeting of the syndicate members with Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Shirin Akhter as in the last 24 hours seven coronavirus cases had been detected on the campus, he said.

During the lockdown period, the emergency administrative activities of Chittagong University will be conducted from the office of the Institute of Fine Arts in Chattogram city, the registrar added.
