A case has been filed against an unidentified man on charges of picking up and raping a girl student of Dhaka University in the capital's Kurmitola on Sunday night.
The father of the victim student now undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital filed the case on Monday morning, local media reported quoting Kazi Shahan Haque, officer-in-charge (OC) at the Cantonment Police Station.
"Investigations have started soon after the filing of the case. Necessary steps have been taken up to locate the scene and identify the accused," the OC said.
Students of Dhaka University have risen up in protests on hearing the rape of one of their fellows since Sunday night.
