Minister of State for Asia and the Pacific at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office Mark Field arrived in Dhaka on Friday on a three-day visit to discuss various issues, including trade and Rohingya crisis.
Mark Field, appointed on June 13 last year, will meet Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed on Sunday afternoon, a Commerce Ministry official said.
He will also have a meeting with State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam .
The British Minister of State is likely to visit Rohingya camps in Cox’s Bazar, reports UNB.
Ahead of the visit Mark Field said, "Bangladesh is dealing with major humanitarian crisis not of its making and it is vital the international community works with Bangladesh to step up support for the refugees and their host communities, especially during this monsoon season."
"We are incredibly grateful to Bangladesh and to Prime Minister Hasina for welcoming over one million Rohingya refugees and I am looking forward to seeing how UK aid was helping improve their lives."
