Bangladesh-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BMCCI) has expressed its deepest condolence at the demise of journalist Raihan M Chowdhury.
Raihan M Chowdhury, who was a senior news consultant at The Financial Express (FE), passed away at Islami Bank Central Hospital in Dhaka on Saturday.
In a letter of condolence on behalf of BMCCI on Monday, its president Syed Almas Kabir described Raihan M Chowdhury’s death as a major loss to the financial journalism fraternity and to the media world.
“He was a very good journalist and a good soul and I recall our good days with him. May his soul rest in peace,” the BMCCI president wrote.
Syed Almas Kabir expressed their deepest sympathies to the family of Raihan M Chowdhury.
Mr Chowdhury had been involved in journalism for more than three decades. He had been working for the FE since 1996. He also worked as the FE's senior business editor.
Prior to joining The FE, he worked for The Morning Sun and The New Nation as a sub-editor as well as a reporter.
