Biman to operate 8 addl hajj flights

The Biman Bangladesh Airlines will operate eight additional hajj flights until 28 August to carry the rest of the pilgrims who could not yet fly for  Saudi Arabia due to various complications.

Religious Affairs secretary Abdul Jalil said Biman got permission from the Saudi Arabia authorities to operate 8 additional hajj flights, reports UNB.

This year 1,27,198 pilgrims were scheduled to go to Saudi Arabia for performing hajj but 951 among them could not managed to submit passport on the last day, so a total of 1,26,247 pilgrims will perform hajj this year.

The license will be cancelled and stern action will be taken against the hajj agencies if any victim files complaint against them, said the secretary.

Meanwhile, some of hajj pilgrims staged protests in the afternoon against the fraudulence of different hajj agencies at Ashkona Hajj camp.
