Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested 39 Bangladeshi nationals along Daulatpur border area of Benapole in Jessore on Tuesday.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of BGB-21 conducted a drive in the area and arrested them around 8:30am while they were trying to enter Bangladesh territory from India without any valid documents, said Lt Col Tariqul Hakim, commanding officer of BGB-21.
Among the arrestees, 14 were female and seven were children, hailing from Barisal, Khulna, Narail, Satkhira and Jessore districts.
The arrestees were later handed over to Benapole Port Police Station, reports UNB.
