Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested 16 Bangladeshi nationals, including seven women and three children, from Daulatpur border in Benapole on Thursday noon.
The arrestees hailed from different areas of Bagerhat, Khulna and Barisal.
Lt Col Ariful Haque, commanding officer of BGB-49 battalion, said acting on a tip-off, a team of BGB conducted a drive along the border and arrested them while they were returning to the country from India without valid documents.
They were handed over to Benapole Port Police Station. A case was filed in this connection, reports UNB.
