Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury on Thursday said Bangladesh has made a considerable progress in different fields of development.
“We are working to fulfil the targets of SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) by 2030,” she made the comments when President of Swiss Red Cross Society Annemarie Huber Hots called on the Speaker at her residence in the city, according to an official release.
Recalling the support of Swiss Red Cross Society to face different disasters challenges, Dr Chaudhury hoped that the Red Cross Society would extend its cooperation to strengthening disaster management capacity of Bangladesh, reports BSS.
Bangladesh is supporting Rohingyas through giving them shelter along with necessary facilities, she said and urged the Swiss Red Cross Society to help Bangladesh for safe and peaceful return of Rohingyas to their motherland.
