Bangladesh is ranked 115th happiest country in the world, according to a report published Wednesday.
‘World Happiness report 2018’ shows that the country has fallen five positions compared to the last year’s happiness index in which it had been ranked 110th.
Despite slipping down five notches, it pulls ahead of Sri Lanka and India who have been ranked 116th and 133rd positions respectively.
According to the report, prepared by Sustainable Development Solutions Network, Finland is the happiest country in the world, followed by Norway and Denmark.
The other seven nations that rounded out this year’s list of top 10 happiest countries include Iceland, Switzerland, Netherlands, Canada, New Zealand, Sweden and Australia.
Syria, Rwanda, Yemen, Tanzania, South Sudan, Central African Republic and Burundi were at the bottom of the index.
The countries are ranked based on six variables that have been evidenced to support well-being: income, healthy life expectancy, social support, freedom, trust and generosity.
