The attacker of Prof Zafar Iqbal, Faizul Hasan, has given confessional statement before a magistrate court in Sylhet in a case over the attack.
Sylhet Metropolitan Magistrate Haridas Kumar recorded his statement under section 164 on Sunday.
Jalalabad police Station officer-in-charge Shafiqul Islam, also the investigation officer of the case, produced Faizul before the court after expiry of his 10-day remand.
Earlier on March 8, Faizul was placed on a 10-day remand.
Prof Zafar Iqbal comes under knife attack during a programme on the campus of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology.
According to UNB, Faizul Hasan swooped on the SUST teacher and stabbed him with a knife at the Mukta Mancha on March 3.
