Prime minister Sheikh Hasina has given instructions to take action against those who attacked DUCSU vice president Nurul Haque Nur and his supporters on Monday, Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader has said.
Her instructions were clear that actions should be both organisational and administrative, he told reporters at his ministry on Tuesday, according to local media reports.
Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, mentioned that Awami League presidium member Jahangir Kabir Nanak visited in hospital the injured as per an instruction from the prime minister and talked about their treatment.
Quoting the prime minister, he said that legal action would be taken against whoever were involved in the attack.
Asked about Muktijuddho Moncho activists who were also involved with the incident, he said he talked to the home minister and asked him to act against them.
Nur and around 27 of his supporters were injured as activists of Muktijuddho Moncho attacked them at the DUCSU VP's room on Monday.
This is the second attack on Nur in a week, and the ninth since he was elected DUVSU VP in March this year.
