At least 685 people were killed in boat capsize across the country in 2019, as per official data.
A total of 820 incidents of boat capsize occurred last year, according to the data available with Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence (BFSCD).
About 668 people were rescued in those accidents, the fire department’s data showed.
The report also disclosed that 332 incidents occurred in Dhaka division.
In 2018, 426 people were killed in such incidents across the country, as per the fire department data.
