The government has decided to increase the monthly allowance of extra departmental (ED) staffs of Bangladesh Post Office (BPO) up to 77 per cent.
The order came on November 25, after a three-month inspection, according to a PID handout issued on Tuesday.
A total of 23,021 ED employees of BPO will be benefited by the allowance.
On the occasion, Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Mustafa Jabbar thanked Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for the allowance hike.
Previously the monthly allowance of ED officials had been hiked in 2013 and 2016.
