Country Director of Asian Development Bank (ADB) Manmohan Parkash on Monday met Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman on the campus.
He was accompanied by Zahir Uddin Ahmed, Team Leader of ADB’s Water Resources Management, according to a DU press release.
During the meeting at the VC's office, they stressed expansion of technical and vocational education as well as knowledge-based education to produce skilled human resources in Bangladesh.
They said the human resources, sustainable industrial policy and social security system are the major components of overall development of a country.
ADB Country Director expressed his willingness to provide support for producing skilled human resources, promoting water resources management and capacity building in Bangladesh.
The DU Vice-Chancellor thanked the guest for his keen interest in this regard, reports BSS.
