ACC summons five over graft in medical equipment purchase

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has summoned five contractors of the health ministry, including chairman of JMI Hospital Requisite Manufacturing Ltd, over alleged graft in procuring medical equipment to fight coronavirus.

Wednesday's summon notice was issued to JMI Hospital Requisite Manufacturing Ltd chairman Md Abdur Razzaq, Toma Construction and Co Ltd coordinator (medical team) Motiur Rahman, Elan Corporation Ltd Chairman and managing director Aminul Islam Amin, MediTech Imaging Ltd director Humayan Kabir, and Lexicon Merchandiser and Technocrat Ltd owner Motazzerul Islam Mithu.

The urgent notice, signed by ACC director Mir Md Zainul Abedin Shebly, asked Mr Razzaq, Mr Rahman, and Mr Amin to appear before the ACC headquarters on July 08, and Mr Kabir and Mr Mithu on July 09, ACC sources said.
