The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Sunday inaugurated 12 more district offices aimed at stepping up its fight against graft and irregularities across the country.
With the new ones, the total number of ACC's integrated district offices (IDOs) has now stood at 36.
To launch the office formally, ACC Chairman Mohammad Moinuddin Abdullah went to Gopalganj while its Commissioner (Inquiry) Dr Mozammel Haque Khan was present in Pirojpur, Commissioner (Investigation) Md Jahurul Haque in Jamalpur and ACC Secretary Md Mahbub Hossain was present in Kishoreganj.
The new IDOs include Gopalganj, Kishoreganj, Narayanganj, Gazipur, Jamalpur, Naogaon, Thakur -gaon, Kurigram, Chandpur, Bagerhat, Jhenaidah and Chuadanga.
Early on January 01 and March 30, the commission launched two more IDOs in Cox's Bazar and Madaripur.
