The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Wednesday arrested three officials of Chittagong Port Authority in Chittagong in a graft case.

An ACC team of its Chittagong divisional office, led by its director Md Abu Sayed, arrested them from the port area, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya said, reports UNB.

The arrestees are assistant transport inspector (NCT yard) of Chittagong Port Authority Md Monwar Hossain, and its upper division clerks Md Nurul Islam Chowdhury and Pulak Kanti Das.

Earlier in the day, the ACC filed a case against them with Halishahar Police Station in the port city of Chittagong for allegedly plundering the government’s revenue of over Tk 7 million from the Chittagong Port.

According to the case statement, all the accused in collusion with each other misappropriated the amount by releasing 404 metric tonnes of crude gliserin from the port showing false documents in September 2015.
