Some 97 Bangladeshi nationals have been infected with Covid-19 in Bahrain, Bangladesh embassy in Manama sources said.
However, none of the Bangladeshis had died from coronavirus so far in this Middle East country. About 2,000 Bangladeshis have been brought under quarantine facilities.
Talking to the FE, Sheikh Mohammed Tauhidul Islam, first secretary at Bangladesh embassy in Bahrain, said although a good number of people have been infected with the virus in Bahrain including locals and foreigners, the recovery rate is good.
According to him, about 200,000 Bangladeshis are staying in Bahrain. Most of them have been working in construction sector.
The Bangladeshi workers are at risk of infection with the deadly disease since there live several of them in the same room and they do not follow the health guidelines, Tauhidul mentioned.
