As many as 769 diarrhoea patients were admitted to the icddr,b, an international health research institute in Dhaka, in the 14 hours till 2:00pm on Tuesday.
AKM Tariful Islam Khan, media manager, icddr,b confirmed this to The Financial Express (FE).
The hospital is witnessing huge pressure as diarrhoea patients continue to get admitted, he said, according to a statement.
On-duty doctors, nurses and health staff are also struggling to deal with the increasing number of patients, Mr Tariful stated.
A total of 1,334 patients were admitted to the hospital on Monday.
Earlier on Sunday, 1,230 diarrhoea patients got admitted to the icddr,b, while 1,245 on Saturday and 1,138 on Friday.
