A total of 54 prisoners died in different jails across the country during the January-November period of this outgoing year, according to an independent rights body.
The report of Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) revealed that of the prisoners, 33 were undertrials and 21 were convicts during the period.
In the past year, the number of deaths in jail custody was 74. Of them, 45 were undertrials and 29 were convicts, the rights body added in its report.
