At least 24 examinees of Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations were expelled and 16 teachers were relieved from exam duties for adopting unfair means in the examinations on Saturday.
The English second paper examination was held on Saturday, reports UNB.
In Pabna, 19 students were expelled and 6 teachers were relieved from their duties during the examination, said additional Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shafiul Islam.
15 students were expelled from Puspapara Kamil Madrasa centre and 4 others from Dr JahurulKamal Degree College centre in Sujanagar Upazila.
The teachers were identified as Farzana Yasmin, Sadek Ali, Azizur Rahman and Tarun Kanti Mandal, Ashik Imran and Abdus Salam.
In Jhinidah, four students were expelled and 10 teachers were relieved from duty for same reason.
Executive Magistrate Usman Gani passed the order.
Another student from Govt Nurunnahar Mohila College was expelled, said Assistant Commissioner (land) of sadar upazila SM Munim Linkan.
In Joypurhat, a mobile court expelled another student as a mobile phone was recovered from his possession and handed him with seven-day jail.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Aminul Islam led the mobile court.
In Barguna, three invigilators were relieved from their duties as some answer scripts of the previous day's examination was found in their exam centre.
The teachers were identified as Saifur Rahman of Amtali Government College and Saiful Islam and Towhidul Islam of Tiakhali College.
In Pirojpur, Indurkani UNO Razib Ahmend awarded different jail terms to two teachers as they were preparing answer-script of the exam paper.
Indurkani College teacher Abdul Malek was sentenced for one month while another teacher Amirul Islam for 15 days, said the UNO.
