A total of 23,617 cases were pending with the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court (SC) in 2019, according to a SC statement issued on Saturday.

Of the total, 6,303 cases were settled by the apex court during the period, said the statement.

There were 20,442 cases pending with the Appellate Division of the SC at the start of 2019, it was unveiled.

9,478 cases were filed with the top court during the period, as per the statement.
