20 died of acute respiratory infection this winter: DGHS

At least 20 people died of cold-related Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) disease, while some 34 others lost their lives due to other diseases across the country in this winter since November 2019 till date.

Besides, some 54,753 people were infected with ARI disease while some 1,54,906 people suffered from other diseases. Besides, 1,34,973 people had diarrhea, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

“Some 20 died of ARI while four from diarrhoea and 30 from other diseases, including jaundice, eye infection, skin disease, and fever etc, from November 1 to January 9,” the DGHS data revealed on Thursday.
