Some 195 women were murdered by their husbands across the country as an outcome of domestic violence alone in January to November 2019, according to a report of a local independent rights body.
Apart from this, 54 women committed suicide, 43 were murdered by husband’s family members and 26 tortured by their husbands, according to the report of the Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK).
Besides, 38 women were murdered by own family members and 13 tortured by their husband’s family, it said.
The report also revealed that 184 cases were filed in connection with domestic violence across the country.
193 women were murdered by their husbands in 2018, the ASK report added.
