169 children raped in Jan-May: ASK

A total of 169 children were raped in the country from January to May 2019, according to a local independent rights body.

Some 65 cases were filed in connection with the incidents, according to a data of Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK).

Of the victims, 33 were 7 to 12 years of old while 31 others aged below 6, it also revealed.

In 2018, 521 children fell victim to rape, the ASK data added.
