The Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) have found the direct involvement of 13 people, including two girls, in setting fire to Nusrat Jahan Rafi, a madrasa student of Feni.

The PBI also said the Alim examinee was set on fire as per the 'instruction' of the principal of Sonagazi Senior Fazil Madrasa Siraj-Ud-Doula.

Bonoz Kumar Mazumder, DAG of Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI), came up with the information while briefing reporters at its Dhanmondi headquarters on Saturday, report UNB and bdnews24.com.

Seven people have so far been arrested in connection with Nusrat's murder while a PBI team is conducting a drive to arrest the remaining six, he said.

The police official also informed that police arrested prime suspect Nur Uddin from Mymensingh on Saturday.

Nur Uddin, 20, one of close aides to principal SM Siraj-ud-Daula, was the former student of the Islamia Senior Fajil Madrasa in Sonagazi, Feni. He hailed from Uttar Char Chandiya village in Sonagazi.

PBI identified two reasons behind the attack -- filing the case against principal of Sonagazi Senior Fazil Madrasa Siraj-Ud-Doula over sexually harassing the girl and her refusal of love offer by an Awami League leader.

Apart from filing the case, Nusrat turned down several times a love offer made by Shahadat Hossain Shamim, Sonagazi Senior Fazil Madrasa unit president of Chhatra League.

Meanwhile, Shamim was arrested from Muktagachha upazila in Mymensingh early Saturday.

The accused people made at a meeting at West Hostel of the madrasa for killing the girl on April 5 following their meeting with the madarsa principal in jail.

On April 6, Nusrat was set afire at an examination centre allegedly by people loyal to the principal after he was arrested and subsequently suspended as she had accused him of sexually harassing her.

Nusrat Jahan lost her battle for life at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital on Wednesday night, five days after the incident.
