The world Red Crescent and Red Cross day was observed on Tuesday in the district as elsewhere in the country with the theme of "everywhere for everyone".
Narsingdi Red Crescent Society unite organised different programmes including procession, discussion meeting and blood donation to mark the day.
A large colourful rally was brought out from the premises of district Red Crescent unite office led by its President and the Chairman of Narsingdi Zilla Porishad Abdul Motin Bhuiyan. The rally paraded the main thoroughfares of the town.
After the rally, a discussion meeting was organised at district Town hall with district Red Crescent Society unite President Abdul Motin Bhuiyan in the chair.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Saiful Islam, Additional Superintendent of Police Shahariar Alam, Vice President of the unite prof Ohi Bushan Chokraborty, its General Secretary Haji Abdus Sattar, Senior Vice President of Narsingdi Chambers and Commerce Ali Hossain Shisir and its Director Momin Mia spoke on the occasion, reports BSS.
